Tragic Discovery at Campsite

Three young sisters — Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5 — were found dead at a campsite in Chelan County, Washington, on June 2.

The girls were last seen during a scheduled visit with their father, Travis Decker, 32. Authorities had issued an endangered missing person alert after they didn’t return on May 30. The alert was canceled once their bodies were discovered near Rock Island Campground.

Father Wanted for Triple Murder

Travis Decker is now the subject of an intense manhunt. He’s been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping. “It is unknown whether Decker is currently armed, but he may pose a significant risk, if approached,” police warned. He was already facing custodial interference charges and has a military background.

Evidence Points to Premeditation

Decker’s white GMC Sierra truck was found near the campsite, containing “blankets, food, car seats and a wallet ‘on the center console.’” Investigators also found “two bloody handprints” nearby. A tent and cooler suggested recent camping activity. Cell phone data shows Decker had visited and left the campsite the day before the girls were taken. According to preliminary court documents, the girls “most likely died by asphyxiation.”

Community Mourning and Support

A GoFundMe organized by a family friend, Amy Edwards, is supporting the girls’ mother, Whitney Decker. “We are heartbroken to share that the girls have since passed … the pain of this loss is immeasurable,” Edwards wrote. The campaign has raised over $357,000 to help cover funeral costs and support Whitney’s healing process.
