Jennifer Lopez’s ex fires back after she says no one has been ‘capable’ of loving her

Jennifer Lopez has recently been surprisingly open about her romantic life.

Not long ago, she expressed that she has never really experienced true love.

This revelation has sparked a response from one of her former husbands.

Remarkably frank

Jennifer Lopez has always embraced the limelight, but lately, the 56-year-old icon has been particularly open about her love life, which has elicited reactions from her past relationships.

In a candid interview with Howard Stern earlier this month, Lopez discussed the difficulties of finding love while being in the public eye.

When talking about her relationships, the singer acknowledged that her fame has frequently complicated her personal experiences.

“I wanted to share my life with someone, I want someone to be there when I’m having my big, important moments on the red carpet, I want someone to be there when… we’re going to the store, whatever it is,” she shared.

When Stern inquired whether she had ever truly experienced love, Lopez responded with remarkable honesty:

“No… What I learned is that it’s not that I’m unlovable, it’s that they lack the ability… They don’t possess it within themselves.”

She continued: “My previous partners offered me everything they had, they gave me their all, every single time… and I didn’t love myself during those periods either.”

Ojani’s reaction

Lopez’s frank remarks quickly elicited a response from her first husband, Ojani Noa. The 51-year-old ex-model, who was married to Lopez from 1997 to 1998, posted a passionate message on Instagram.

“Let me just say, stop belittling us. Stop putting me down with your victim narrative,” Noa expressed.

“The issue is not us. Not me. The issue is you. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it together. You have experienced ‘love’ several times. You have been married four times and have had numerous relationships in between. You had good relationships… Take me for instance.

“I’m a wonderful, loving individual, a great person. I’ve always been honest, faithful to you, never lied, never misbehaved, never cheated on you… I treated you well. I’m too good of a man for you.”

He also accused Lopez of prioritizing fame and wealth over their marriage:

“I sacrificed my family and career to help you chase your early dreams… Just tell the truth for once. Let everyone know you are the issue. You should feel embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.”

Affleck’s admission

On the other hand, Lopez is also coming to terms with the conclusion of her latest marriage.

She and Ben Affleck reignited their romance from the early 2000s, getting married in Las Vegas in 2022, only for Lopez to file for divorce in August 2025, citing irreconcilable differences. Affleck, 52, has mostly kept quiet but briefly spoke to GQ in March, describing the split as “embarrassing” and “vulnerable.”

“There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” Affleck stated. “It’s simply a story about people trying to sort out their lives… there wasn’t a major event, no dramatic moment. It’s more akin to a couples therapy session.”

He mentioned that he refrained from sharing too many specifics because “it feels vulnerable” and acknowledged that both he and Lopez were dealing with their own internal challenges during the relationship.

Lopez, who recently completed her This Is Me… Live tour, delighted fans with a blend of music and personal insights. During a performance in Bilbao, Spain, she even took a moment to respond to a fan’s proposal with humor and grace.

“I think I’m done with that,” she said with a grin. “Yeah, I tried that a few times.

Lopez’s Relationship Timeline:

Ojani Noa (1997–1998): Her first marriage, which lasted only 11 months before ending.
Cris Judd (2001–2003): They divorced after a two-year union.
Marc Anthony (2004–2014): This was her longest marriage, during which they welcomed twins Emme and Max.
Ben Affleck (2022–2025): They reignited an early romance, but ultimately divorced, citing irreconcilable differences.
